COMMANDANT SUPPORT SERVICES
Commander Haji Ainolnizam bin Haji Ibrahim has been serving as the Commandant of Support Service for the Royal Brunei Navy since 15 May 2024. With a distinguished career spanning over two decades, he previously held the position of Director of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Directorate for three years and served as the Head of the RBAF Religious Department for five years. Commander Ainolnizam is married to Pengiran Nur Lainul Qalbi, and together they are blessed with five sons.
Born on 26 May 1973 in the Belait District of Brunei Darussalam, Commander Ainolnizam pursued his higher education through a twinning program between Universiti Brunei Darussalam and the University of Glasgow in Scotland. He graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Electrical Engineering on 15 July 1999.
On 24 January 2000, Commander Ainolnizam was selected as one of six candidates to join the RBAF Potential Officers program. He underwent rigorous recruit training at the RBAF Training Center, marking the beginning of his military career. In January 2001, he was sent to the prestigious Britannia Royal Naval College (BRNC) in HMS Dartmouth, United Kingdom, for Officer Cadet Training, graduating on 3 August 2001. Shortly after, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and assigned to the KDB WASPADA as an Officer Under Training, where he honed his skills in naval engineering.
From June to December 2002, Commander Ainolnizam attended the System Engineering Management Course at HMS COLLINGWOOD in the UK, qualifying as a Weapon Engineering Officer. His expertise led to his selection as a Project Officer overseeing the construction of RBN ships at BAE Systems in Scotland from 2003 to 2006. Throughout his career, he has held several key positions within the RBN, including Fleet Engineering Officer, Officer in Command at the Integrated Weapon Complex, Staff Officer 2 Inspectorate, and Training Officer at the Naval Training School.
Between 2011 and 2013, Commander Ainolnizam served as the Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to the Crown Prince of Brunei, a role that underscored his professionalism and dedication. In August 2013, he embarked on a nearly year-long Command and Staff Course in the Sultanate of Oman, further enhancing his leadership and strategic capabilities.
In December 2014, Commander Ainolnizam was entrusted with leading the repair project for the KDB DARUSSALAM in Labuan, a task he successfully completed by December 2015, ensuring the ship’s return to active service. His career is a testament to his unwavering commitment to excellence, leadership, and service to the Royal Brunei Navy and the nation.
